Saving Money on Spring Makeup

It's ironic how I'm sat in my dining room with a blanket trying to find the motivation to get up and make myself a cup of tea yet I'm going to be talking about Spring appropriate makeup. THIS IS (beauty blogging) ENGLAND. All three of these products have been hyped up in the beauty world and, of course, I fell victim to positive reviews and now have my hands on these fairly new releases.

Recently my skin has been awful, I've had a lot of spots and redness yet, up until a few months ago, my skin used to be clear most of the time. I'm not entirely sure what has caused the change in my skin as my skincare consists of Simple and Johnsons', both unoffending brands, but think it could be down to the fact that I wear foundation every day and my skin can't breathe. I'd been wanting a really lightweight base and so when I saw L'Oreal's Nude Magique Eau De Teint on offer at Asda for £7 (usually £9.99 at Boots) there wasn't a better time to buy it. I've used this foundation a few times but can't give my opinion on it just yet as I haven't used it enough but I will definitely be doing a full review when I have done so. It offers SPF 18 and claims to be non-pore clogging with a formula as light as water which sounds perfect for if we ever get any warmth and sunshine as I would hate to be wearing a heavy base.

From the first time I swatched Sleek's Pink Lemonade I knew I had to have the pink filled palette to fulfill my girly needs but resisted buying it for a few months and assumed it would no longer be available as I did initially think it was limited edition. When reading Kayleigh's (Couture Girl's) review on the palette I saw she had also included an Amazon link where it was being sold at £8 with 99p shipping which is £1 (I actually had to use my phone's calculator to work out the difference between £9.99 and £8.99, THE SHAME) cheaper than it is at Superdrug so popped it in my virtual basket. Again I'm doing to do a full review on this palette but I've been trying it out everyday since it arrived and all of the shades are very pigmented and give a fresh, dewy glow to the cheeks and I can see it being as loved as my Lace palette.

Lastly is a Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm purchase in the shade Unapologetic which I have decided is one of the nicest lip colours I own and also one of my favourites as it is a bright pinky, red which gives a lovely pop of colour. I bought this with a Boots £2 off Revlon lipstick voucher making it £5.99 instead of £7.99 and the cashier told me she didn't think these balms were supposed to be included in the offer but she did it anyway as she said they didn't specify otherwise. Whoever you are, you are a retail rebel and you have enriched my life greatly. I can see myself wearing this a lot over the coming months and also think it would be perfect with a tan as it's the type of colour that would stand out even more against a darker complexion but, until then, I will just have to substitute my dream with bronzer.

I'm planning on wearing a combination of all of these products as a go-to Spring look a lot to give a fresh and bright look and am really excited to have some warm weather. Warmer Weather Lipsticks

I'm back with yet another post on lipsticks, I really can't help myself, I have so many and find them the most interesting to talk about. This post feels like it has been around 10 years in the making as I decided to take pictures of me wearing the lipstick and about 100 photos later I still wasn't happy with the picture quality but threw my hands up in the air, dramatically shook my fist and proceeded to use them anyway.

It's now March and Spring is on its way in two weeks (March 20th) and so, with any luck, the weather will get a bit warmer and the Spring trends will be in full swing. I've selected five lipsticks I'll be reaching for more to suit the weather including various shades of pink and coral, all are from Boots/Superdrug meaning you won't have to fork out a lot of money to buy any of them.

L'Oréal Color Riche- 371 Pink Passion, £8.19

I've had this lipstick in my collection for quite some time now and is a lipstick I don't recall ever seeing a blog post about and feel it's pretty underrated. The formula of this lipstick is so creamy and moisturising while smelling like parma violets. It's a corally pink shade that leans quite yellow (does that even exist?) and reminds me a bit of Mac's Viva Glam Nicki but is so much more wearable, believe me I tried it on in the shop once and it looked revolting on me, I can't believe I was ever thinking of buying it! It can be worn lightly with just one layer or built up, it can go a bit cakey when built up but is fine once blotted.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids- 910 Shocking Coral, £6.99

Another coral shade that I absolutely love for its vibrancy, just looking at it makes me wish I was in the sun. This shade would look so nice with a tan or for people who have an olivey skin tone as it would really stand out however also still looks good if you're paler. I don't really understand why this lipstick translates so badly on camera but it is brighter and more pigmented in real life!

W7 Go West! Matte- Powder Pink, £1.99

A bit of a dark horse (pretty sure my use of that phrase is 100% Katy Perry inspired) surrounded by these more well-known brands but is made unique due to the matte finish and the cool pink shade. I blogged about it previously here where I mentioned how at first it starts off fairly shiny but it then becomes matte yet doesn't feel drying on the lips. I bought mine for £1.49 at B&M instead of the link I listed so if you want it for the slightly cheaper price it's worth looking at the makeup section in store.

Fashionista Double Take Long Wear- 7 Coral, £5.29

Another lipstick that I've previously posted about here and is a go-to colour of mine if I want a bright coral shade; I originally bought mine off the MUA website for £1.50, however, it now appears that they're out of stock and so I found it instead on the Superdrug website but at a more expensive price unfortunately. I would definitely recommend this lipstick and, coming in at a cheaper price than a Kate Moss lipstick, it's still a bargain buy. When I see this lipstick I imagine it paired with my polka dot blue and white shirt or a basic stripy dress/top to give a pop of colour.

Rimmel Kate Moss- 110 Vibrant Coral, £5.49

The final lipstick and most famous out of all five lipsticks, one I've also mentioned before on my blog here, is this matte finish, corally orange shade. I feel like the majority of people own this shade and if you don't have it I'm sure you'll love it if you give it a swatch as it's such a unique shade that gives so much life to my face.
