The Liebster Blog Award #8

Barbs from 300 Days of England nominated me for a Liebster award and I thought it was so sweet that she didn't choose blogs with under 200 followers (she has rebellion flowing through her veins) but instead this is why she chose to nominate people: I believe not all these blogs have less than 200 followers but the main reason why I chose them is the writers. In fact these girls are kind and outgoing enough to actually read a post before commenting or to reply to comments which apparently is not a common thing among bloggers. So I feel like they deserve a genuine award.

I honestly think that is such a lovely thing to say it made me feel all happy inside haha, but I'll stop blabbing and get on with the questions Barbs gave us:

1. Pringles or Oreos?
Pringles! I'm not really a fan of Oreos, saying that I'm sure I'd eat them if they were put in front of me but I wouldn't go and buy some.

2. If you could travel back in time, when and where would you go?
Oh dear I have no clue, this is really generic but I do love the picture of the teenagers from the 50s on the beach, the fashion was so cool.

3. Which famous character (real or fictional) would you cook dinner for?
Again I have no clue haha! My mind always goes blank when I have to answer questions like this, such a let down.

4. ... And what would you prepare?
The only meal I can just about pull off is beans and toast so it would have to be that haha!

5. If you could change your hair colour for 24 hours, which colour would you pick?
Either lilac or a really white blonde because I've decided I want white blonde hair so it'd be good to trial it first.

6. Name something that brightens up your day.
Anything remotely funny that makes me laugh.

7. What is the furthest place from home you've been to?
I asked my mum and she told me Egypt, so Egypt it is.

8. What was your dream job when you were a kid?
I went through so many different phases when I was younger but the ones I remember most were a doctor and vet, good job I didn't pursue either because I am absolutely awful at science.

9. What song is your first pick for a karaoke night?
I reckon Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus would be fun, I would use my booming voice to replicate her voice. Not really haha.

10. Something you wish you were able to do?
I wish I was crafty and good at being creative, that's all I've ever wanted! Or I really wish I had a natural flare for modifying clothes but everything I've ever tried to change has resulted in unwearable pieces of clothing.

11. Do you remember the last handwritten letter you sent?
I do but I'm scared of saying it because it's embarrassing, and also technically it was never sent. Ah heck it was a letter to Matt Cardle when I went to London to try and meet him basically me expressing my love and asking him to follow me on twitter, I'm glad I didn't meet him because he would have been like '...what do I do with this?'

The Liebster Blog Award #5, #6 and #7

I was nominated for a Liebster Award by three different bloggers, Kasope, Maria and Renee so thank you to all three of you! I've done the award a few times so I'm not going to nominate people or give any questions to answer by I'm going to answer the questions I was given! If I answer all the questions it's going to be a crazily long post and people will die from exhaustion so I'm going to choose 4 questions from each blogger.

Kasope's questions:

1. Summer or Winter clothes?

Definitely Winter, I don't feel comfortable showing my bare legs or my back so finding Summer clothes are a nightmare for me! This Summer I'm going to make more of an effort with my clothes though and buy things out of my comfort zone!

2. High end or drugstore makeup?

I wish I was one of these girls who only ever bought high end makeup but I am a drugstore lover all the way, I really can't part with so much money on a regular basis when I know there are cheaper alternatives.

3. What is your favourite item in your wardrobe?

Currently it's my denim jacket from Primark with fake sheepskin on the inside and round the collar, it literally goes with everything, I have to refrain from wearing it 24/7.

4. Online shopping or instore shopping?

I think it depends because online shopping is the best when looking at the sales but a lot of the time when I order online I return loads of items as they're not what I though they'd be.

Maria's questions:

1. What's the name and brand of your favourite lipstick?

Mac's Impassioned will forever be my favourite!

2. What's the one beauty item you can't live without?

Mascara, no specific one, I just need something to define my eyelashes!

3. How often do you go out without make up?

I wear makeup everyday (yolo) unless I'm ill or I'm not going to leave the house but at college it gets taken off because I'm doing makeup artistry.

4. Favourite brand of mascara?

Currently it's Miss Sporty's Incrediball but it changes quite frequently.

Renee's questions:

1. Sweet or savoury?

It depends, I like to think savoury but I can never tell until I'm faced with both options in front of me haha.

2. DIY or buy?

Definitely buy, I'm awful at DIY and have ruined many pairs of jeans by trying to cut them into shorts but accidentally cutting them way too short to ever be socially acceptable.

3. Heels or flat shoes?

I like wearing heels but I wear flats 90% of the time so, flats.

4. If you could go to any country in the world where would it be?

Australia (breaks down and cries).

The Liebster Blog Award #4

Cora from Corasphere nominated me for the Liebster award which is so nice and I'm really happy about so go and check out her great blog! I've done the award several times now which is so kind and I love answering the questions but can never think of any decent questions for people to answer but you can see my other posts I did here: 1, 2 and 3.

Cora's questions for me:

1. Playsuits or jumpsuits?

I never wear either but I would choose a playsuit as I can imagine a jumpsuit looking absolutely terrible on me.

2. Favourite book or film that has inspired you in some way?

Ah I have no clue! I love loads of films and books but I can never think of any when I'm asked. Some books I love are Let's Get Lost by Sarra Manning, The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han, Sean Griswold's Head by Lindsey Leavitt and You Against Me by Jenny Downham. I wouldn't say they inspire me but they're the kind of books that when I'm not reading it I'm still thinking about it and want to read more. 

3. A lipstick you'd recommend your followers to buy?

If you can afford to spend £15 Mac's Impassioned is literally amazing and a colour that I think would suit anyone but from a more affordable range I would choose a lipstick from Beauty UK as I literally think they're incredible and so pigmented.

4. Favourite nail vanish brand?

I kind of just buy any nail varnish I like the look of but I have a Maybelline Super Stay one that is really good and doesn't chip easily.

5. Top 5 online clothes websites?

I rarely order from websites that are only online because it just annoys me when clothes don't fit and I have to return them so I always stick to ordering from websites that have a shop in real life. I mainly only order off New Look though but in real life I shop in Primark and H&M but the H&M website infuriates me.

6. Your life ambition or goal?

I don't know yet but I want to be doing something within the makeup industry whether that be a makeup artist or writing about makeup like I do now but on a larger scale.

7. Something in the world that you wish you could change?

I feel like I'll bring the mood down by giving a serious answer so I'll say I wish everyone would try a bright lipstick at least once as so many people I know say they don't suit them or they're too scared but if they tried it a few times it'd look so good!

8. Best drugstore product that you've ever bought?

Aaah this is so hard literally all I ever buy is drugstore. There are so many things that I couldn't be without (oh the drama) but I'll try and dwindle it down to the MUA Shimmer Highlighter, MUA Matte Eyeshadow Shade 19 for my eyebrows, Accessorize Blush/Bronzers and George at Asda Undereye Concealer.

9. What are you looking forward to in Autumn?

Literally everyone says this but I honestly love baggy jumpers and have so many that I love from charity shops. I also feel so at home wearing my big green coat and live and die in it when it's cold so I'm looking forward to wearing that everyday too.

10. Your favourite childhood holiday?

When I went to Scotland with my parents and other family friends. Or a cruise I went on was really good.

11. Why and when did you join Blogger?

I joined this year in July as it was something I'd wanted to do for a while and as I had a summer free from plans and school I thought it'd be good to start then. It's so much fun and I'm so glad I joined even when I want to kill everyone because it takes me a while to take a good picture of an item.

Here are the questions Lucy gave me and my answers to them:

1) Whats your most worn piece of clothing?

Leggings! I have such a lazy sense of style.

2) Heels or flats?

Definitely flats, I love masssssive heels but I would never wear them on a daily basis because I'd feel like I'm trying to draw attention to myself but I do wear them occasionally.

3) Do you have any hobbies other than blogging?

No, what a sad, sad life I lead.

4) Dark, Milk or White chocolate?

I don't actually know, it depends on my mood. Probably milk though. Or maybe white.

5) Who's style do you love?

I'm not sure, I like laid back outfits that are really casual but look nice and put together. There isn't really a celebrity or person's whose style I really admire but I really like how the Olsen twins dress and also the girls in 90210.

6) Celebrity crush?

I was asked this before and I said Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Channing Tatum but I also want to add Matt Lanter to the list. All so beautiful.

7) Do you have any pets, if so what is it?

Two dogs, Amy is a Dachshund and Leo is a Chihuahua crossed with a Toy Poodle. They are both so beautiful they make me emotional.

8) Who's your favourite band/singer?

Uh I'm just going to say it straight out: One Direction.

9) Whats your most used makeup product?

It's so hard because I wear mascara, lipstick and fill my eyebrows in every day without fail so it's probably a tie! But I've got through two Rimmel eyebrow pencils and am now on my third so most likely that is my most used item specifically.

10) What do you do in your spare time?

Watch YouTube videos, read blog posts, blog and watch TV.

11) Why did you start a blog?

I used to love writing when I was younger but then English in secondary school sucked the whole fun out of it but since I became a huge lover of makeup I thought it'd be fun to talk non-stop about products I've bought and enjoy using.

The Liebster Blog Award #2

I was nominated for The Liebster Blog Award by Alice (thank you!) whose beauty blog I love reading so go and follow her! I was nominated a few weeks ago and did a post on it here where I nominated blogs that I love so I'm not going to retag people but am going to answer the questions Alice gave me!

1) What's the most recent thing you bought?

It was Superdrug's own brand Coconut Oil after I'd seen loads of bloggers talking about how amazing it is! I put it in my hair for about an hour this morning and then washed it out and my hair felt a lot more manageable so I'm happy with it. I also just remembered I bought a coke and chicken nuggets from Burger King after the Coconut Oil so I guess I've just lied to everyone.

2) Who inspires you?

This is such a typical YouTube watching/blogger response but people like Zoe (Zoella), Tanya Burr and Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter) because they seem like such nice people and have made a living out of just being friendly and talking/blogging about makeup and other things they enjoy. Gosh I'm welling up.

3) Coffee or Tea?

Coffee! I used to love tea but now it makes me feel sick but I still have it every now and then.

4) Favourite item of clothing?

Pretty boring but probably my high waisted leggings from River Island just because they can be worn with anythingggg and they're not see-through so I can tuck tops into them.

5) Favourite TV show and why?

90210 or Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model!

6) Silver or Gold?

In terms of jewellery it's gold because I own a crazy amount of gold necklaces (well it's fake gold but you know). In general I'm not too sure because it depends on what the item is and whatnot. Probably gold though.

7) Favourite thing in your make-up bag?

I'm torn between the items I use for my eyebrows and any kind of mascara so I've gone with mascara because it just changes my face so much. I'm currently using Max Factor's Wild Mega Volume mascara which I bought when it was on offer for £4.99 instead of £6.99 but it's turned out to be really good so I'm going to repurchase it when I run out!

8) What's your favourite way to kill time?

Watching YouTube videos, reading blogs, blogging or just generally being on my phone.

9) Where's your favourite place?

Hmm I have no clue, if it was a shop it'd be Boots or Superdrug but for a location I don't actually know haha!

10) Do you have a pet, if so what is it?

Yesssss, two dogs. Amy is a Dachshund and Leo is a Chihuahua mixed with a Toy Poodle.

 

11) Where do you see your blog in 2 years?

I like to think I'll still be blogging and talking about makeup I've been loving!

1) Which is the best place you've ever visited?

My mind has gone blank and I can't pinpoint anywhere specific but when I was younger I went to Scotland with loads of family friends and I had so much fun with the people my age because we were literally in the middle of nowhere. Also I loved Tuscany in Italy because it was so pretty and the food was gurrrrrd.

2. Who is your celebrity crush?

Oh my word so many beautiful men out there how can I decide?! Probably Harry Styles and Zayn Malik (am I allowed to say more than one? I'm uncontrollable) and also Channing Tatum because he has the ultimate male figure.

I loved Steps and pretty much cried when they broke up but I also liked Liberty X, Hearsay and Maroon 5.

Mascara of any kind!

6. Which beauty skill do you wish you could be better at?

Applying and blending eyeshadow! I don't know whether I'm rubbish at it or if I have such minimal eyelid space it just makes it ten times harder than it actually is.

7. Would you rather have a shopping spree or a holiday?

Shopping spree because you get to keep everything!

8. What is your favourite animal?

Dogs, particularly small breeds.
