Review: Mac's Relentlessly Red

I've added yet another lipstick to my collection (slaps wrist) this time being one I'd resisted for a few months, Mac's Relentlessly Red. Was anyone aware that Mac lipsticks have gone up another 50p?! I nearly keeled over when I looked at my receipt and saw £15.50 staring back at me. Moving on from my near-breakdown Mac describe Relentlessly Red as a bright, pinkish coral and is from their fairly recent collection of Retro Matte finishes.

The first time applying the lipstick I wasn't expecting quite how drying it felt; I own Mac's Lady Danger which is a Matte finish but with this one I felt really conscious of my mouth and it felt like quite a bit of effort to talk, probably not the best route to take when I had to serve customers for 5 hours. Rookie error. Since wearing the lipstick quite regularly now though I've got used to the formula and it feels completely comfortable to wear but is a heads up if you find lipsticks can be drying in general.

Truthfully I've found the lipstick application a little difficult to master, scrubbing and applying lipbalm beforehand leaves my lips a little too greasy causing the colour to appear faded and smudge outside of my lips but not exfoliating makes for a hideous, flaky sight. Layering the lipstick can cause it to gather and so I've found it best to scrub my lips with my toothbrush instead of my Lush Lip Scrub and then applying the lipstick in small sections on my lips instead of all at once. The lipstick does drag on my lips sometimes and can leave an uneven edge so I pair it with Barry M's Dark Pink lipliner which is a near enough match and helps to clean up the look.

The lipstick's wear time is amazing, I swear I applied it before I had work at 1pm and it was still there at 10pm looking as bright and vivid as it did when first applied. I remove my makeup using Garnier's Micellar Water and even using that the lipstick still left a stain to my lips, I don't even understand how it's possible to last so long but I love it as once it's on it's so hassle free. I can eat and drink without worrying about the colour fading and even ate a greasy Chinese and it was still in place.

The two lip swatches showing the colour when in different lighting

The shade has quickly become one of my favourites as it brightens up my face and is an all year round wearable shade, I've read many people saying it looks different in different lights and it's true, sometimes it looks like a dark pink and sometimes a sort of neon coral. I originally kept resisting buying this shade as I thought it was too similar to Mac's Impassioned which I also own and, there's no point beating round the bush, the shades ARE similar and I probably don't need both but Relentlessly Red gives a much more intense colour pay off compared to Impassioned's Amplified finish.

From left to right: Relentlessly Red and Impassioned

Overall, this lipstick can be a little temperamental, one day I can apply it and it will make my lips look horrible and chapped no matter what I do but on other days I can apply it in one swipe and it looks perfectly fine and so, for those glorious days where it applies nicely, it will earn a place in my lipstick display. Feel honoured Relentlessly Red.

Do you own this lipstick? What are your thoughts?

Makeup Revolution: Lipstick in Immoral* and Nail Polish in True Blue*

I'm sure over the past week or so you have seen hauls and product reviews cropping up left, right and centre featuring the new makeup brand Makeup Revolution and have squealed with joy, like myself, over the reports of there being a Naked 3 dupe. The company, who have already created a huge impact after only having launched in London during March this year, offer 300 products on their website, here, all while being incredibly affordable and cruelty free. Prices start at £1 (seriously, my bus fare is more than double this amount) and the most expensive price being a mere £12 for a 100 Piece Eyeshadow Palette or a collection of 12 nail varnishes currently on sale at the same price.

It was on one fine Tuesday afternoon that I was offered the opportunity to try out their blue lipstick in Immoral and, although I really wasn't sure what to expect, as the old tale goes: never pass up the chance to rock a blue lip. Or something vaguely along those lines I'm sure. I am a huge lover of lipstick and rarely feel self conscious regardless of what shade I'm wearing from pinks to oranges so thought how different could a blue lipstick really be?!

The lipstick is held in a basic, black plastic case with 'MAKEUP REVOLUTION' printed nicely on the side in gold writing with the shade being displayed at one end in see-through plastic. For me, packaging is necessary only to store the product inside and I feel that it will be enough to keep the lipstick safe and free from damage. Immoral has a definite hint of a vanilla scent which I really love as I can never resist giving my makeup a good little sniff before applying it (uh so weird).

Immoral is a light, baby blue colour and, I feel this is fairly obvious, but it's not the type of colour that you would pop on to go to the shop quickly and is instead one used to create a statement. I admire that Makeup Revolution have stepped away from the classic lip shade collection of a red, a nude and a pink as I'm only currently aware of Lime Crime doing unusual lipstick shades which cost around £13 so Makeup Revolution definitely provide a much better alternative for people on a budget.

The formula of this lipstick is quite sheer and feels a little like a lip balm on the lips as opposed to being stiff and drying like a lot of cheaper lipsticks tend to be. At first I did find it a little difficult to work with as I couldn't seem to get an even application all over my lips as when applying another layer it seemed to remove the first layer and make my lips appear patchy. It's worth mentioning that I do feel like this is a problem unique to the shade as I can imagine the sheer formula working really well with a more nude shade and one which isn't going to be such a contrast against the natural lip shade. After some trial and error I did find that lining my lips with a blue eyeliner first improved the look of the lipstick a lot as it gave the lipstick something to stick to and intensified the colour which made it more wearable as well as giving much needed definition.

I did originally think that this would be a really cool lipstick to wear on a night out (although I can imagine my friends recoiling in horror) and would make for a striking look but unfortunately I don't think I have the right sort of face for it (damn you genetics). I do truly believe that if you're the type of person who's quite edgy then Immoral would work for you and make people want to go out and buy the lipstick too, and I know for one I would be in awe of them. This shade would flatter someone with a darker skin tone as the contrast would look amazing and you'd be less likely to look washed out or even with a nice sun-kissed tan it would be a shade worth considering. As I'm doing a makeup course I'm planning on using this lipstick for fashion/editorial looks and so I'm certain I'm going to get a fair bit of use out of it. If you're on the fence I'd say to give it a go as it truly is only £1 you'll be losing out on if you decide blue lips aren't for you but you could definitely get creative with your makeup to compliment the blue.

Immoral applied alone (excuse my awfully moody lips)

Immoral applied with a blue lip liner

Makeup Revolution were also kind enough to send me a matching nail varnish in the shade True Blue, pretty great timing as it's all about matching lips and tips this season! I would say that the nail varnish and the lipstick are nearly if not exactly the same shade in person and this has been on my nails since it arrived in the post on Monday. The shade is a perfect powdery, summery blue and has lasted incredibly well so far especially considering the low £1 price tag; while at work on Monday I kept checking my nails over to see if there were any signs of chipping and didn't see any (ticks imaginary check box) and I'm now on day 3 of wearing the polish and the only chips are from me picking at them (bad habit). I applied 3 coats as application was a little streaky at first but this is an issue I find with a lot of different brands and is not something that would deter me from buying more shades from the range. If you're wanting to incorporate colour into your wardrobe for Spring and want to start with your nails but don't want to spend a fortune then Makeup Revolution would be a good place to start as you get a good quality product and not to mention the nicely rounded edges on the bottle.

From left to right: one coat of True Blue, two coats of True Blue, three coats of True Blue

Makeup Revolution is a brand to keep an eye on as their existing products already look amazing and seem to be innovative and up-to-date with current trends so it's going to be really exciting seeing what else they come up with. I've heard the brand will be available in Superdrug eventually which nearly sends me into excitement overload as I can swatch until my heart's content and walk away proudly with a bag full of beauties. Next pay day I feel like I'm going to have to purchase a few items online from Makeup Revolution as I can't help the fact that the Hot Smoked and Iconic 3 eyeshadow palettes are calling my name!

Have you tried any Makeup Revolution products yet or are you interested in doing so? What's your take on blue lips?

The 5 Travelling Lipsticks

Yesterday I got back from visiting one of my best friend's who's at uni in Lincoln, I went from Friday through to Wednesday and had the best time everrrr so much so I stayed two days longer than planned, okay three if you include the breakdown I had the night at 11pm when realising my ticket wouldn't allow me to come home on the Sunday. When I was unpacking my makeup bag I decided I'm going to post about the makeup I brought with me but am doing the lipsticks separately. Five lipsticks doesn't seem like much but when you consider I was packing with the thought in mind I was only going to be there from Friday afternoon to Sunday mid-morning...it's excessive.

I wanted to bring a variety of colours to make sure I wouldn't be doing my makeup and think 'dang I wish I brought _____' as well. Starting from the left is Barry M's 52 Shocking Pink, Barry M's 151 Sunset, Rimmel's 107, a lipstick by Louise Gray for Topshop called Mexican Wave and then Mac's Impassioned.

Yes, I brought two Barry M lipsticks with me, big up big up Barry. 52 Shocking Pink is pretty much how I imagine a pink highlighter would be in lipstick form, it is so shockingly (shocking ha) pink and is a shade I would wear every single day if I could. I wore this on our first night out on the Friday but in photos it doesn't really pick up that well.

151 Sunset I brought with me as I wanted a corally colour if I felt like I didn't want to wear a full on orange, I can't remember if I actually wore this shade or not, I feel like I did through out the day though I could have done without it.

I brought Rimmel's 107 with me for if I wanted to wear a dark lip and I ended up wearing this on our last night out although it faded pretty badly throughout the night and I wasn't functioning well enough to reapply it.

Mexican Wave by Louise Gray at Tophshop I bought a few years ago in the New Year sales as it was heavily reduced, I think this line has been discontinued as I can't find it online anymore but a lipstick similar to this shade is Mac's Morange or Topshop's Infrared but this one is more noticeably different. I wore this lipstick on our second night out and prefer it to a standard red going out shade as I feel like red doesn't do much for my face, or at least all of the reds I own don't!

Lastly, surprise surprise I couldn't leave my little Impassioned baby at home, needless to say I wore this travelling to and from Lincoln and it was never a question in my mind that it would accompany me on my travels.

From left to right: Barry M's 52, Barry M's 151, Rimmel's 107, Louise Gray's Mexican Wave and Mac's Impassioned

I think it's quite surprising how easy it was to whittle my hugeeeee lipstick collection down into these five and feel I made pretty good choices. Note how I didn't bring any nudes, I never see the point in me bringing quite toned-down shades as I don't wear them.

What shades would you bring with you if you went away? Any of the ones I talked about above?

Autumn Berry Lips: Cheap, Cheaper, Cheapest

For me there is something so terrifying about dark lipstick, from the application to the overall look of it, it scares me. It's something I want to wear so badly but, as I have thin lips, dark colours can instantly make them look thinner and, if you make a mistake when applying, it is so obvious as well as the fact if you knock your lips you'll have a beautiful smudge mark. In a bid to be more confident with wearing dark lipsticks I've chosen 3 of my dark, berry lipsticks that are really cheap so, even if you don't end up wearing them daily, you haven't made a huge investment. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about the lipsticks just a brief overview (I'm so wordy and annoying I need to tone it down damn it).

When I was taking pictures of these lipsticks I was planning on doing a post to compare the 3 but then, when looking at the swatches, I realised the colours are honestly nearly identical so bare with me through my last minute journey of a cheap, cheaper and cheapest transformation and also ignore the fact that the most expensive lipstick is in the middle. Cry.

The cheapest lipstick I have chosen is Collection's 1 Seduction from their new range Gothic Glam retailing for £2.99. This lipstick leaves a really nice stain and, like with all Collection lipsticks, I'm really impressed and would recommend for people to try this out for themselves or the other two shades from the Gothic Glam collection as all shades are aimed towards Halloween and the colder months.

Next is Rimmel Kate Moss' Matte Lipstick in 107 which I can only assume the whole universe has heard about. This is the lipstick the majority of people probably think of when they hear the term 'Autumn lips' and, at £5.49, it is the most expensive lipstick from the 3 but still entirely affordable. As this is a matte finish I find it less scary to wear because once it's on it's harder to accidentally knock whereas the Collection and Barry M one I find I'm more aware of when wearing them. However, this lipstick does tend to leave my lips quite shrivelled and unattractive looking so I wouldn't wear this for a whole day, maybe just for popping out or going out for a bit in the evening.

Lastly is Barry M's Lip Paint in 160, also shown as Black Cherry online, and retails at £4.49 so is the middle ground lipstick. This lipstick is part of Barry M's Ultra Moisturising range, however, I feel like this lipstick drags the most on my lips which I personally don't find to be a problem because it makes me think the colour is grabbing my lips more (or is this just me?) but is worth noting if you don't want that in a lipstick.

From left to right: Collection's Seduction, Rimmel's 107, Barry M's 160

Each of these lipsticks are worth giving a try for this season as every blogger seems to be talking about berry, Autumn lip shades and I feel these shades are wearable without making you look extremely pale and ill. The shades lean more towards dark reds and purples with hints of pink as well rather than a straight up black/brown.

Does anyone have anymore suggestions for cheap, affordable berry toned lipsticks? I have Beguiled from Topshop, that used to terrify me but not so much anymore, that is also similar in colour to the above 3 but is more expensive at £8 and so I didn't feel was worth mentioning.

eBay Acrylic Lipstick Storage

As my makeup collection is ever-expanding and over-flowing I decided to buy some acrylic storage to organise it better. I currently store my makeup in a 4 set of drawers I bought from Asda similar to this and I then also have a small cupboard that I keep my everyday makeup in, palettes and brushes in boxes and jam jars. However, as I own so many lipsticks I wanted a better storage method and took to the world of eBay.

I'm aware of how incredibly underwhelming this picture is, you do not understand how many photos I took! It didn't look right against paper, carpet or a windowsill so just settled for my dressing room top which is glass, and therefore reflective, so I don't know what was going through my mind.

The item is listed as 'Clear 24 Squared Makeup Lipstick Acrylic Cosmetic Storage Rack Display Holder' (covering all the key words there 'ey, I see your game) and I purchased mine from the Chinese seller europaper1000 for... wait for it... £2.98! AND FREE DELIVERY?! I paid for it on the 26th of August and it arrived on the 6th of September so took a total of 12 days to arrive which is so good I could cry.

It arrived well packaged and undamaged, however, I have noticed there is a small chip at the base of the item but I guess that can't really be avoided and none of the holders are damaged so I don't mind at all.

It holds all different shapes and sizes of lipsticks with the back row being able to hold the larger, squarer lipsticks such as the Maybelline Color Sensational and L'oreal Color Riche while they seem to get a bit stuck in the other rows.

I've found 24 spaces to be the perfect amount to store all of my most used lipsticks and the rest of them that I don't reach for very often are stored in one of my little drawers as well as my lip crayons/pens that don't look right in the acrylic holder.

I love how easy it is for me to see all the shades quickly and it makes me want to tidy up after I've done my makeup as it makes it so much easier. I've also arranged them in brands so it looks more organised and aaaah, it makes my heart burst with joy.

I love this type of storage as it looks so modern and tidy but I'm not sure if I will order any more types of acrylic storage as lipsticks are the only products that I have to search around for due to how similar a lot of them look while foundations and other products are clearly recognisable. The seller I bought it from seems to be really trustworthy and efficient so would recommend them also!

For those of you who are really observant will have seen that there is only one Beauty UK lipstick on display and that's because I somehow lost both Pink My Ride and Passion the day after blogging about them here. I searched for them for ages but didn't find them so decided to repurchase Pink My Ride as I felt that was a shade I couldn't live without but didn't repurchase Passion as my mum has it as well so I can steal it off her. Hawhaw.

If there are any lipsticks you see in the photos that you want to know more about leave a comment and I'll tell you the brand and shade name because it personally kills me when I recognise makeup packaging but can't work out what it is.

Collection Deluxe Lipstick: Speak Easy

I bring exciting news in the form of a lipstick, but, when is lipstick ever NOT exciting I may hear you ask... or not depending on your levels of sanity. Collection (must resist urge to type 2000) have released a new range of 'Deluxe' lipsticks which caused me to violently crouch on the floor of Superdrug to begin swatching the colours. After looking on the Collection website I found that they hold a 70% blend of lip conditioners, antioxidants and hydrating properties and are said to be creamy with a velvety finish. There are 5 shades currently available, all of which are said to be retro inspired, and so I opted for one of the pink shades, Speak Easy.

I hadn't heard a thing about these lipsticks, not a blog post, not an advert, not an email nor a pigeon bearing a letter which I find odd considering I've heard and seen so much about their recently launched Eyeshadow Pencils. I am a big fan of Collection's Lasting Colour Lipstick range as they're incredibly long-lasting and have some really nice shades and are a brand of lipsticks that I always recommend if people ask for affordable, good lipsticks. I had to try out one of their new lipsticks especially as they are currently available at an introductory price of £2.99 as opposed to their usual £3.99 in Superdrug but, strangely, I haven't yet seen them in Boots. I can't find them online at Superdrug but they are available from Boots here.

I really love the packaging of these lipsticks as they look so much more expensive than the usual black and pink plastic casing they opt for. Appearance wise they remind me of Bourjois lipsticks and the only tell-tale sign that they belong to Collection is their dotted logo on the top of the lid casing.

Speak Easy is a natural, mauve toned pink that I find is really forgiving and easy to apply without a mirror. The formula is incredibly creamy, as claimed, but is still long-lasting but not so much as the Lasting Colour lipsticks. My mum commented on how they have the same smell as lipsticks did when she was younger so if you're a fan of that smell this may please you, if like me you're completely unsure on what old lipsticks smell like then you are granted permission to absent-mindedly nod.

I'm impressed with this new range and love how soft the lipstick formula feels. The other 4 shades aren't colours that I'm too fussed about buying but I'm hoping they will release some more colours eventually (cough coral and orange).

One Direction Lipsticks: I Want and Rock Me

When I heard One Direction were releasing a makeup range I very nearly fell to the floor in sheer delight: makeup and One Direction, my favourite things in life. I make no secret of the fact that I love One Direction's music and faces, so much so I have seen them in concert twice, so how could I NOT buy from their new range with MUA?! I must admit, I did feel a bit like a loser in my work uniform standing at the MUA section in Superdrug, alone, but that didn't stop me from picking up two lipstick shades and heading to the till with pride. The shades I chose were Liam's 'I Want' and Louis' 'Rock Me' and left behind Niall and my two boys Harry and Zayn.

Firstly, I love the detail that has gone into the lipstick design; on the top the 1D logo is imprinted which I think is so cute but this has sadly disappeared after a few uses while, on the rest of the lipstick, there are X's and O's (which I can only assume they mean hugs and kisses and not a game of noughts and crosses hawhaw). I also enjoy the fact each lipstick is signed with the corresponding member's name, it just feels so designer haha.

On the left is Rock Me, Louis' shade, a lovely lilacy pink colour that I have been loving as I don't own a lipstick in this colour and was actually on the look out for quite a lilacy colour up until recently. On the lips it feels really creamy and smooth and I find it to be very well pigmented.

On the right is Liam's shade, 'I Want', which is an orangey red shade which, unfortunately, seems to have a golden sheen to it which I don't find flattering on myself. It isn't incredibly obvious but I find it so annoying as I love the colour itself but it's just my damn thin lips that don't look nice in those sort of finishes! It applies in the same way as Rock Me and is extremely pigmented.

I'm impressed with these lipsticks and am glad I bought them as the colours are a really nice addition to my lipstick collection and they don't seem to dry my lips out which is always a bonus. I love the vibrancy of the colours and think that for £3 you can't go wrong with trying a shade or two (or three, or four, or five)!

On the left is I Want and on the right is Rock Me

I definitely want to try the coral cheek tint they have available and also try out one of the lipbalms for days where I don't feel like wearing lipstick (those days don't even exist). I'm not too fussed about the nail varnishes as I already own so many but will no doubt end up buying some anyway.

Barry M Purchases

I always love the colour range of Barry M lipsticks but, in the past, my mum has bought some really nice shades that look amazing but, when wearing them, are incredibly dry upon application and just not flattering at all! As a result I only own the Touch of Magic lipstick which I think is amazing and would definitely recommend to people just because it's so unusual and people can be like WHAT NO WHY ARE YOU PUTTING GREEN ON YOUR LIPS and then you can go all Blue Peter on them. However, I decided to go to Boots with the intention of buying a Barry M lipstick to see whether all of the lipsticks had the same drying effect and put my preconceptions to the test (dun dun dun).

I decided to buy shade 151, which is named as Sunset on the Barry M website, as it is such a lovely bright pinky, coral (I am literally the worst person at describing colours, they all end up being a broad 'pinky coral') and is a really nice shade for warmer days. I haven't found this formula drying at all so far which I'm really happy about and think it may have just been the shades my mum owned previously that were drying. I find the staying power to be good but with a reapplication needed most likely after eating a meal. These lipsticks are £4.49 from Boots, Superdrug and the Barry M website which I think is entirely affordable and I love the writing across the lid as I think it adds a nice little finishing touch.

I also bought two lipliners as, when I went to my college induction, one of the teachers said about how important it is to use lipliners to get an even application and to also stop any lipstick bleeding into your skin and, ever since, I've been on the hunt for lipliners. I've never used any other lipliners apart from some of my mum's old ones that she gave to me so I have nothing to compare the quality to but so far they seem to be pretty good and do their job. I haven't really been using them as much as I had hoped as I'm always in a rush and don't have time but I want to experiment with making my cupid's bow more pointed and see whether I like the look or not.

The colour on the left is number 12 which is called Fuchsia on the website which is a bright Barbie (again, my use of description is atrocious, I've used the word Barbie on this blog so many times I swear!) pink which I can pair with quite a few of my lipsticks. I think this shade is particularly good to have as with light, but bright, lipsticks you can lose lip definition and I seriously cannot afford that because my lips are so thin anyway.

The shade on the right is number 2 named Dark Pink (I may have found my uncreative shade-naming match) on the website  which, again, I can pair with a lot of my lipsticks and would describe it as a very wearable cherry pink. These lipliners are £2.99 which is good value as I can see them lasting a long time considering their size. The lipliners have a smooth, soft and creamy formula and I also want to try filling in my whole lips with a lipliner and putting a balm over the top to see what it looks like and so seem like they'll be quite multifunctional in their use.

I also want to buy a brightly coloured orange lipliner as I wear orange lipstick a lotttttt and am on the look-out for one to match my Kate Moss Rimmel 107 shade! Also, my friend, Luke, started a blog today where he'll be reviewing films that he's watched so if you're interested please follow him! His blog is The Movie Diorama, thank you!

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick Collection and Swatches

Lipsticks are my favourite makeup item to buy as I rarely wear eyeshadow and so like to put the colour and emphasis onto my lips. I own so many it's kind of ridiculous and my obsession started when I convinced my mum to buy me the Barry M Touch of Magic green lipstick that changes colour depending on your skin tone and, ever since, I have loved lipstick. A small minority of my collection is from the Rimmel Kate Moss range; I own some from the original lasting finish collection and some from the matte lasting finish collection.

From left to right: 01, 12 and 16

Firstly are the three shades I own from the original lasting finish collection; I love the formula of these lipsticks as they feel really creamy, are moisturising and don't dry out my lips at all. I also find them to be very long lasting which I love because I hate the idea of reapplying lipstick throughout the day- I just want it to stay put. I also love the smell of these lipsticks, to me they smell like a mix of a load of different smells like fruit, sweets and cinnamon. They retail at Boots and Superdrug for £5.49 which I believe is entirely affordable especially as lipsticks tend to last me ages.

Shade 01 is quite a deep, dark red shade as opposed to a bright and true red which I, personally, love because it makes it more wearable for daytime but can also be worn through to the evening. I feel like this lipstick has quite a vintage and classy feel to it and would look really good with a dark eye makeup look.I don't wear this lipstick all too often, mainly because I forget I own it, but, also, because it's been warm and sunny, I feel like a dark lipstick shade doesn't match up so I opt for oranges and vibrant pinks instead. I recently lent this to a friend who is Sri Lankan for her prom and she suited it so well so I would definitely say this colour is a universal shade and would suit most skin tones.

Next is shade 12 which I honestly do not like on myself as I feel the colour looks completely different on my hand than it does on my lips. In the swatch above it appears to be a vibrant, bright orange, however, on my lips it comes out a dark orange shade which I just don't find flattering on myself. I find this really disappointing because I want to love it because I'm a slave to orange lipsticks but I just can't bring myself to wear it no matter how much I try to convince myself otherwise. I would recommend this shade for people who want to wear an orange lipstick in a subtle way, unlike people like myself who prefer real orange shades.

Finally from the original range is Shade 16 which I absolutely love! It is such a perfect baby pink colour that looks so feminine and girly. This is the nudest shade of lip colour that I will willingly wear and it's not even that near a nude shade to be honest haha. I love wearing this for a natural makeup look and just for if I was going out quickly to the shop or to walk my dog and wanted an easy colour to wear and apply but still wanted it to be clear I was wearing lipstick. This lipstick just makes me so giddy with joy and especially because it is from the Spring collection which makes it seem like such a happy shade.

From left to right: 110 and 107

Next are the two matte lasting finish shades I own: 110 and 107. Both of these lipsticks seem to be really popular among bloggers and YouTubers and it feels like every person in the world owns these two shades and I understand why! They share a similar (if not the same, I can't actually tell haha) smell to the original lasting finish lipsticks but differ in that they obviously have a more matte finish to the other collection. Although they are matte shades I wouldn't say they are completely so as they do seem to have some sheen to them but I didn't buy them for the matte effect, I bought them for the colours. On the lips they feel just as moisturising as the previous lipsticks but I would say they are longer lasting, particularly 107 as it leaves a dark stain to the lips. The only thing I would say about these lipsticks is to make sure you exfoliate your lips before wearing them because, on me at least, they seem to accentuate dry areas.

110 is a really nice orangey, corally shade that I love but I also always forget to wear this one as well (sorry Kate)! It's one of those shades that add a splash of colour to your makeup without being too in-your-face and it gives a healthy, alive look to your appearance. It's a colour that's really nice to own even if you weren't to wear it all the time just because it differs from the usual pink and coral shades.

Lastly is 107 and, oh my word, I am in love. It is my favourite from the five lipsticks and I am so happy I bought it. I usually steer clear of dark lipsticks and, after a bad experience with Topshop's Beguiled which basically made me look ill as it had too much purple in it, I never took interest in them. However, 107 was one of those lipsticks I always swatched when going into Boots or Superdrug but never bought because I felt it would be a waste as I wouldn't use it but I was wrong! It's a lovely purpley, plummy shade that I feel looks really sophisticated and adds a twist to a girly outfit. I feel a bit grungey when I wear it (this feeling is ridiculous as I am probably on the furthest point away on the grunge spectrum) and I wish I bought it in Winter as I really feel like it's too deep a shade for Summer! CURSE YOU SUN RUINING MY 107 WEARING LIFE! Although, despite my burst of capitalisation, I have worn this a few times during the day (I will pretty much wear any lipstick in the day as I don't separate them into a day and night category) and haven't felt overdone or too dressy wearing it. I really think it is one of those colours people should buy to step out of their comfort zone with because of the affordable price. I've also been on the hunt for darker lipstick shades since buying this one but so far I haven't found any that I like, any suggestions?

I'm looking to extend my collection of these Rimmel lipsticks because of the value for money and I love the extent and variation of the colour range. I am thinking 05 and 13 next (dear heavens above control me).
